Le Grand Chronographe Régulateur

La caractéristique frappante de ce nouveau chronographe est son cadran régulateur présentant l’indication des heures à 12 heures ainsi que sa grande aiguille des minutes placée au centre.
A ceci s’ajoute l’aiguille de la 2ème zone horaire, l’indication jour et nuit, la réserve de marche combinée avec une deuxième aiguille indiquant la fin de la réserve, l’aiguille trotteuse, la fonction chronographe monopoussoir coaxial et la grande aiguille du chronographe au centre.
Le calibre est un chronographe avec un grand compteur seconde au centre, un compteur minute à 3 heures, une roue classique à colonnes et un embrayage horizontal. Les leviers du chronographe ainsi que les ponts en forme typique « V » sont finement anglés et polis à la main.
Le grand balancier avec la courbe terminale Phillips bouge à la fréquence classique de 18.000 alternances par heure (2,5 Hz) permettant de mesurer le temps par cadence d’un cinquième de seconde.

The most eye-catching features on the new chronograph are the regulator dial with its small hour circle at 12 o'clock and a large central minute hand.
These are complemented by a second time zone display, a day/night indicator, a combined power reserve / winding display, the continuously running seconds hand and the chronograph function with its single-button operation, a large centre chronograph hand and all the design features typically associated with the Institut Minerva de Recherche en Haute Horlogerie.
The MB M16.30 calibre is a chronograph movement with a large central seconds hand, a small minute counter at 3 o'clock and a classical column wheel with a horizontal clutch. The chronograph levers are meticulously hand-crafted and finished, while the chronograph bridge, too - in the V-shape typical of Minerva - is hand-chamfered and polished.
The heavy screw balance with its Phillips balance spring oscillates at the classic speed of 18 000 beats per hour (2.5 Hertz), which enables the user to record times to an accuracy of one-fifth of a second.

Les deux disques des compteurs, le disque de date et des parties du cadran présentent de larges ouvertures, à travers lesquelles on peut admirer directement plusieurs roues ainsi que la platine du mouvement décorée de « Côtes de Genève ». On peut voir, entre autres, l'embrayage vertical des disques du mécanisme de chronographe, qui se trouve au centre entre les trois disques rotatifs pour les secondes, les minutes et la date.

Le chronographe est actionné par un monopoussoir positionné à 8 heures sur le côté du boîtier. A cet emplacement, il est protégé contre tout déclenchement involontaire et peut être aisément actionné avec le pouce. L’heure du jour est affichée en chiffres arabes sur un cadran décentré.

Celui-ci entoure une ouverture dans laquelle tourne le disque de date squeletté. La date actuelle est indiquée par un triangle rouge fixé à 12 heures sur le tour d’heure et orienté vers le disque de date. La correction rapide s’effectue indépendamment de la position de l’aiguille des minutes, dans le sens horaire ou antihoraire.
Le mouvement possède deux barillets qui génèrent une réserve de marche de 72 heures. La réserve de marche restante est visible au dos du mouvement à travers le fond en saphir.

The two counter discs, the date disc and parts of the dial have extensive cut-out areas through which we have a direct view of the individual wheels and the movement's main plate decorated with Geneva stripes. Also visible – among other things – is the chronograph mechanism's vertical disc clutch, which lies centrally between the three rotating discs for the seconds, minutes and date.
The new Montblanc MBR110 calibre is based on the MBR100 and is a hand-wound movement with a standard time display, a rotating date disc and a chronograph with classical column wheel control featuring an innovative disc clutch. It is operated using a monopusher in the side of the case at 8 o'clock. This arrangement is very practical because it ensures that the button is not pushed unintentionally and can be operated with the thumb of the right hand.

MBR100

Standard time is shown on an off-centre calibrated ring with Arabic numerals. This frames a cutout in the dial in which the skeletonized date disc rotates. The current date is shown by a fixed red triangle at 12 o'clock, which points to the date disc. Another very practical features is quick adjustment of the hour and date when travelling through different time zones.
This can be carried out regardless of the position of the minute hand in either a clockwise or anticlockwise direction. The movement has two barrels, which generate a 72-hour power reserve. The remaining power reserve is shown on a display at the back of the movement, which can be seen through the sapphire glass cover.
