LUMINOR CHRONO DAYLIGHT 44mm TITANIUM

Le nouveau modèle est équipé d’un chronographe à mouvement automatique avec dateur et muni du certificat de chronomètre C.O.S.C. attestant de la fiabilité du chronométrage.
La dernière innovation, et non la moindre, concerne le matériel du boîtier et du bracelet: le choix classique de l’acier a été remplacé par celui du titane, un métal qui est à la fois robuste, inaltérable et particulièrement léger. Pour la nouvelle Luminor, un alliage degré 5 a été sélectionné.

La Luminor Chrono Daylight 44mm Titanium est actionnée par le calibre exclusif Panerai OP XII, un mouvement à remontage automatique de 13¼ lignes avec 27 rubis et une masse oscillante et des ponts décorés.
La montre offre une autonomie de marche de 46 heures et est équipée du dispositif antichoc Incabloc. Grâce à la précision du mouvement et aux excellents résultats suite à 16 jours de tests, le mouvement a été doté du certificat official de chronomètre délivré par le Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (C.O.S.C).

The technical point of view there are numerous new features: it is no longer a watch with only hour and minute indication, but a chronograph with date, operated by an automatic movement and also supplied with the C.O.S.C. chronometer certificate testifying to the accuracy of its timekeeping.
No less important is the material from which the case and innovative bracelet have been made: the traditional steel has been replaced with titanium, a metal which combines hardness and immutability with extreme lightness. The alloy used for the new Luminor is grade 5.
The Luminor Crono Daylight 44mm – Titanium is fitted with an automatic movement, the Panerai OP XII calibre of 13¼ lignes, with 27 jewels and decorated oscillating weight and bridges. With a power reserve of 46 hours and Incabloc anti-shock device, the movement is supplied with the chronometer certificate issued by the official Swiss authority, C.O.S.C., after undergoing tests lasting 16 days.

RADIOMIR TITANE 47 MM

Habillées d’une boîte de 47 mm de diamètre, de forme “coussin” et étanche à 100 mètres, les nouvelles Radiomir de la collection Éditions Spéciales renouent avec le format et les partis pris esthétiques d’ensemble de leurs devancières. Mais à y regarder de plus près, nombreuses sont les transformations et les innovations, partisanes d’une certaine radicalité.
À commencer par le métal du boîtier : non plus de l’inox mais du titane de grade 2, choisi pour sa légèreté, sa résistance à la corrosion et ses propriétés anallergiques.

Décliné en noir (PAM309) et dans un élégant brun (PAM322), le cadran des nouvelles Radiomir Titane 47 mm porte lui aussi des traces du passé : on les retrouvera, sur la version noire, dans le compteur de la petite seconde à 9 heures, conçu sur le modèle des Radiomir à réserve de marche de huit jours du début des années 1940 et, sur la version brun, dans le mince anneau dentelé entourant les index, qui imite le filetage des modèles d’époque grâce auquel était fixé le cadran.
Le mouvement à remontage manuel qui entraîne la Radiomir Titane 47 mm est le calibre OP XXVII, de 16 lignes de diamètre. Comme nous l’avons dit plus haut, il s’inscrit lui aussi dans la tradition des modèles historiques, puisqu’il a été réalisé à partir d’un mouvement signé Minerve, maison qui déjà à l’époque comptait parmi les fournisseurs de Panerai.
Fort de ses 18 rubis et d’un balancier oscillant au rythme de 18 000 alternances par heure, il affiche une réserve de marche de 55 heures.

With cases 47 mm in diameter, cushion-shaped and water-resistant to 100 metres, the new Radiomirs of the Special Editions Collection maintain substantially the same dimensions and aesthetic characteristics as their predecessors, but when the details are examined, many radical changes and innovations become apparent. Starting with the materials used to construct the case, this is no longer stainless steel but Grade 2 titanium.
This metal has been chosen for its qualities of lightness and corrosion resistance, and its hypo-allergenic characteristics.

With a black background (PAM309), or an elegant dark brown one (PAM322), both the dials of the new Radiomir Titanium 47 mm have some interesting details from the past.
The first is the small seconds dial situated at 9 o’clock, like the 8-day model made in the early 1940s; the second is the narrow ring surrounding the markers, which reproduces the threads which was used to fix the dial itself in the original model.
With manual winding, the movement used in the Radiomir Titanium 47 mm is the calibre OP XXVII, 16 lignes in diameter. It too is associated with the historic models; it was developed using as a base a Minerva movement, a calibre from a House which has already supplied Panerai in the past. With 18 jewels and a balance oscillating at 18,000 alternations/hour, the movement has a power reserve of 55 hours.

LUMINOR CHRONO MONOPOUSSOIR EN TITANE

Le dernier chronographe signé Officine Panerai, de la collection Manifattura, abrite un mouvement mécanique sophistiqué et exclusif habillé du traditionnel boîtier Luminor 1950 de 44 mm de diamètre.
Fabriqué en édition millésimée en titane de grade 5 - le plus difficile à modeler et à travailler en finition - il se détache dans le panorama actuel des chronographes de sport, non seulement par ses caractéristiques techniques avant-gardistes et ses qualités proverbiales de fiabilité et d’étanchéité, mais aussi par sa remarquable légèreté. Son mouvement, le P.2004 est le premier calibre chronographe entièrement conçu et réalisé par Officine Panerai, dans sa manufacture de Neuchâtel.
Il présente une série de particularités et d’innovations notables : un remontage manuel pour une réserve de marche de huit jours à indication linéaire ; un second fuseau horaire avec indication jour et nuit ; un dispositif d’arrêt des secondes pour une synchronisation de précision et un chronographe monopoussoir avec roue à colonne et embrayage à friction.
Muni d’un balancier oscillant à 28 800 alternances par heure (soit 4 hertz), lui-même équipé de vis de réglage, le calibre P.2004 réunit 29 rubis, mesure 16 lignes de diamètre. Il est muni d’un dispositif d’arrêt des secondes : une fois la couronne extraite, l’aiguille des petites secondes revient instantanément en position de départ, et elle se remet à trotter dès que la couronne est de nouveau enfoncée. Ceci permet, par exemple, de synchroniser la montre avec un signal horaire à la seconde près.

This is the new Luminor 1950 Crono Monopulsante in Titanium, the new chronograph from Officine Panerai which is part of the Manufacture Collection. It is distinguished by an exclusive, sophisticated mechanical movement housed in the traditional Luminor 1950 case, 44 mm in diameter. Executed in Grade 5 titanium, the most difficult alloy to mould and finish, it is being produced in a millesimed edition.
The movement, the P.2004, is the first chronograph calibre completely designed and executed by Officine Panerai in its own manufacture at Neuchâtel and it incorporates a series of important details and innovations.
These include manual winding with a power reserve of eight days; linear indication of the power reserve remaining; a second time zone with day/night indication; stop-seconds device for exact synchronisation; and a single-button chronograph with column wheel and friction clutch.

LUMINOR REGATTA CHRONOGRAPHE 44 MM

Pour le Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge 2008, l’édition, comme toujours unique et limitée à 500 exemplaires, comprend la Luminor Regatta Chronographe 44 mm, chronographe et chronomètre indiquant les 5 dernières minutes précédant le signal de départ de la régate.
Le boîtier de 44 mm de diamètre, typique des Luminor, est en acier inoxydable avec finition satinée pour la carrure, la lunette aux profils polis, les poussoirs du chronographe et le pont à levier.
Ce dernier, l’une des particularités des montres Panerai, permet d’exercer une pression sur la couronne pour empêcher toute infiltration. Étanche jusqu’à 100 mètres, la Luminor Regatta Chronographe 44 mm dispose d’une échelle tachymétrique gravée sur la lunette pour le calcul de la vitesse moyenne, tandis que le fond vissé porte une inscription gravée indiquant l’année de la manifestation pour laquelle la montre a été réalisée et le numéro de l’exemplaire. Les poussoirs du chronographe sont insérés de façon oblique dans la carrure à l’abri du pont à levier.

For the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge 2008 the edition, unique as always and executed in and edition of 500 units, consisted of the Luminor Regatta Chronograph 44 mm, a chronograph and also a chronometer equipped to indicate the final five minutes preceding the starting signal of a yacht race. The case, 44 mm in diameter, is typical of the Luminor and is executed in stainless steel with a brushed finish for the caseband while the bezel is polished, as are the chronograph buttons and the bridge of the lever device.
This device is one of the most distinctive elements of Panerai watches and enables the crown to be clamped to prevent any infiltration of water. Water-resistant to 100 metres, the Luminor Regatta Chronograph 44 mm has a tachymeter scale for calculating average speed engraved on its bezel, while on the screwed back, also engraved on the steel, is the inscription which records the year of the event for which the watch was made and the individual number of the watch in the editon. The chronograph push-pieces are inserted obliquely in the caseband behind the bridge with the lever device.
The movement used in the Luminor Regatta Chronograph 44 mm is the Panerai calibre OP XXVI, with manual winding and a power reserve of 46 hours. With a diameter of 13 lignes, the movement has 24 jewels and a monometallic balance; it is supplied with the official chronometer certificate of C.O.S.C.

PANERAI LUMINOR 1950 TOURBILLON GMT

Sur la Luminor 1950 GMT, l’axe de rotation de la cage du tourbillon, parallèle à la base du mouvement, forme ainsi un angle droit avec l’axe d’oscillation du balancier ; qui plus est, la cage effectue deux tours par minute.
Ces deux nouveautés permettent au modèle Panerai de mieux compenser les écarts liés aux changements de position, bien plus fréquents sur les montres-bracelets que sur les modèles à gousset.
Entraîné par une série d’engrenages comparables à ceux d’une boîte de vitesses, ce dispositif fonde donc l’identité du calibre P. 2005. Mais celui-ci diffère aussi de tous les autres tourbillons actuellement sur le marché à d’autres égards.

Composé de 239 pièces, il se remonte à la main et, grâce à ses trois barillets, emmagasine une réserve suffisante pour tenir 6 bonnes journées sans être réarmé. Il est également doté d’un second fuseau horaire, baptisé fonction GMT.
La Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT est munie d’un fond en verre saphir, qui livre au regard l’ensemble de son mouvement. De quoi admirer la fascinante rotation du tourbillon mais aussi connaître la réserve de marche restante, grâce à une petite aiguille se déplaçant dans un disque.
Habillé d’un boîtier reconnaissable entre tous et de l’inimitable dispositif protège- couronne, qui fait la marque des modèles Panerai Luminor depuis plus de 60 ans, cette nouvelle montre de 47 mm de diamètre est en acier inoxydable poli et satiné.
Étanche à 100 mètres, pour être digne de la vocation nautique de la maison, le cadran est protégé par un verre saphir antireflet de deux millimètres d’épaisseur.
Autre innovation Panerai, sa forme sandwich permet aux index et chiffres arabes de grande taille qui ornent le cadran d’être lus très distinctement dans l’obscurité, en raison de la généreuse couche de matière luminescente placée entre ses deux étages.
Les larges aiguilles des heures et des minutes contrastent avec celle, plus effilée, de la fonction GMT, commandée elle aussi par la couronne de remontoir. À l’inverse de certains des modèles à tourbillon les plus sophistiqués, la Luminor 1950 n’exhibe pas sa spécialité technique : contrairement à l’habitude, aucune ouverture sur le cadran n’en fait étalage et seul un détail original révèle sa présence. Dans un petit compteur, à gauche, un petit indice bleu circulaire se partage en effet l’espace avec l’aiguille des secondes continues : en prise sur le tourbillon, il est donc deux fois plus rapide que sa voisine et boucle son tour de cadran en 30 secondes.
Enfin, dans un second petit compteur, une aiguille accomplit une révolution en 24 heures, balayant les indications « AM » et « PM », selon l’heure du jour ou de la nuit indiquée par le deuxième fuseau horaire.

In the Luminor 1950 GMTthe cage rotates on an axis parallel to the base of the movement at right angles to the axis of oscillation of the balance; in addition, the cage makes two rotations per minute.
These two innovations make the Panerai design better at compensating for errors arising from changes in position, which are much more numerous with a wristwatch than a pocket watch.
Operating through a series of gear trains comparable to those of an automobile’s differential, the device is the distinctive feature of the P.2005 calibre, which differs from all the other tourbillons currently in production in several other details. Consisting of 239 components, it is manually wound and with its three spring barrels it stores enough power for the watch to operate for a good 6 days without further winding.
It is also equipped with the GMT function, that is, a second time zone. The Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT has a sapphire crystal back which exposes the whole movement to view. This allows the fascinating rotation of the tourbillon to be admired, as well as enabling the amount of power reserve available to be read from the indication of a hand which moves over a circular arc, With its unmistakable case and distinctive lever device protecting the winding crown which for more than 60 years has identified Panerai Luminor models, the new watch has been executed in polished and brushed stainless steel, with a diameter of 47 mm.
Water-resistant to 100 metres, as is to be expected from the nautical vocation of the House, the dial of the watch is protected by a sapphire crystal two millimetres thick with anti-reflective treatment.

The dial itself is of sandwich construction, one of Panerai’s other innovations, with large markers and Arabic numerals that are particularly visible in the dark as a result of the large quantity of luminous material contained between the two layers of the dial.
The large hour and minute hands contrast with the arrow- pointed thinner one of the GMT function, which is also set by means of the winding crown. Unlike some of the most sophisticated models with a tourbillon escapement, the Luminor 1950 does not ostentatiously show off this technical speciality; the device is not revealed through an opening cut in the dial, as is usually the case, and its existence is only indicated by a single original detail.
In the small auxiliary dial on the left there is a little circular blue indicator as well as the continuous seconds hand. This indicator is connected to the tourbillon and therefore moves twice as fast as the seconds hand, making one rotation every 30 seconds.
The other small dial has a hand which makes one rotation every 24 hours, pointing at the inscriptions “pm” and “am” to indicate whether the hour shown by the GMT hand is during the day or the night.
