Nouveautés 2013 des montres Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe référence 5200 Gondolo «8 Days, Day & Date Indication»

The rectangular caliber 28-20 REC 8J PS IRM C J form movement enriches the Patek Philippe collection of currently produced manually wound movements. It was developed explicitly for the Ref. 5200 Gondolo; in twin in-line barrels, it stores the power needed to guarantee that it will run non-stop for 192 hours.
This doesn't mean that the watch will stand still then; instead, it has the power reserve required to safeguard the steady amplitude of the balance and its rate accuracy up to and including the eighth day. Insiders will no doubt remember the Patek Philippe “10-Day” which had its debut in the year 2000 and delivered power for two additional days.
The fact that the Ref. 5200 falls short by two days is associated with the date indication and the day aperture; advancing these calendar displays every day at midnight requires a lot of energy. This is remarkable especially because the calendar is an instantaneously switching mechanism in which the day and the date switch forward simultaneously at midnight, within three milliseconds – faster than the blink of an eye. In the process, the large disk of the prominent day-of-week display has to be advanced by one increment as well.
To a great extent, the staying power of the new caliber 28-20 REC 8J PS IRM C J is due to the patented oscillator with a Spiromax® balance spring and a Pulsomax® escapement, for which Patek Philippe has leveraged all the benefits of the innovative silicon-based Silinvar® material. It is the manufacture’s first 4-hertz movement with these patented elements.
The innovative rectangular long-distance runner is housed in an anatomically curved and elongated white-gold case with two-tiered flanks reminiscent of the most memorable Art Deco creations.

The new Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 7200 in delicate rose gold is a ladies' wristwatch fully focused on hours and minutes.
The case back has a sapphire-crystal glass that reveals the ultra-thin, self-winding mechanical movement. It is the legendary caliber 240 with a 22K gold minirotor fully recessed in the plate. Every movement of the wrist delivers energy to the mainspring barrel.
With a height of merely 2.53 mm, it is extremely thin; this is why the case of the Ref. 7200 is so svelte and elegant.

Patek Philippe's collection of moon-phase watches for ladies welcomes a newcomer. This year, it is the new Calatrava Ref. 7121, which features a sparkling Milky Way with 66 brilliantcut diamonds on the bezel. It is a classic and seductive creation that turns any time of day into enchanting moments.
With a diameter of 33 mm, the new moon-phase Calatrava Ref. 7121 has a contemporary format without being voguish.
The heart of the new ladies' Calatrava Ref. 7121 is the caliber 215 PS LU movement, a manufacture classic just like the Calatrava family itself. Because it is manually wound, it needs some personal attention every day, but this just intensifies the relationship of the owner with her watch. The reward for the brief daily winding ritual is high rate accuracy in the chronometer league with a tolerance of -3 to +2 seconds per day. The moon-phase display is also extremely precise: it takes 122 years to accumulate a one-day error versus the true lunar position.

For decades, the Calatrava – the prototype of the classic round wristwatch, including its Officer'sstyle variations with dust covers over the case back – has ranked among the most iconic creations of Patek Philippe. Uniting the key characteristics of this watch family, the new Calatrava Ref. 5227 now features a display back protected with a separate dust cover. The special twist: The entire hinge is on the inside of the cover, making it invisible even to the connoisseur.
The case back beneath the dust cover has a sapphire-crystal window as well to reveal the beautiful movement within. It is the self-winding caliber 324 SC, widely admired in the world of horology.
Its large four-arm Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring made of Silinvar® beats at a frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour (4 Hz) to assure the rate accuracy specified by the Patek Philippe Seal, within the narrow tolerance range of -3 to +2 seconds per day.
