UR-1001 Zeit Device
La UR-1001 est véritablement un instrument de mesure du temps digne de son nom. C’est une montre compliquée au superlatif qui mesure et quantifie l’ère dans sa totalité, d’une courte seconde à un millénaire astronomique.
Dégageant sa force d’un boîtier qui semble sculpté dans un bloc de métal massif, la UR-1001 indique le passage du temps en secondes, minutes, heures, jour/nuit, mois, années, centaines d’années et jusqu’à la somme gigantesque d’un millier d’années.
La super-complication Zeit Device offre une multitude d’indications, notamment via des satellites orbitaux et même un système rétrograde volant ressemblant à une comète. Les cadrans, ressorts, satellites, carrousels et spiral rétrograde ont tous été manufacturés par URWERK, de même que la plupart des éléments qui entrent dans la composition des indications et complications de la Zeit Device.
Le modèle AlTiN UR-1001 fait l’objet d’une édition limitée à 8 exemplaires en acier traité AlTiN, avec des éléments en titane.
Le satellite tournant du calendrier est une complication originale, à la fin des mois de 30 jours — avril, juin, septembre et novembre — la date avance automatiquement au 1er du mois suivant. La roue correspondante, porteuse du carrousel à trois bras, comprend 93 dents et fait un tour en trois mois. Trois croix de Malte sont montées dessus, chacune correspondant à un satellite de quatre mois placé à leur opposé.
À la fin des mois courts, un doigt intégré à une croix de Malte fait avancer la roue de la date des deux jours nécessaires pour passer au mois suivant.
The UR-1001 is a true Zeit Device: It is a grand über complication both measuring and quantifying the era in its entirety, from a solitary second to an astronomical millennia. Exuding force from a case seemingly carved from a block of solid metal, the UR-1001 marks the passage of time in seconds, minutes, hours, day/night, date, month, years, 100 years and all of the way to a monumental 1,000 years!
The Zeit Device houses a constellation of indications, including orbiting satellites and a comet-like flying retrograde. Dials, springs, satellites, carrousels, retrograde spiral spring were all manufactured in-house by URWERK, as were most of the components in the Zeit Device's complications and indications.
The AlTiN UR-1001 is a limited edition of 8 pieces in AlTiN treated steel with titanium elements.
The Revolving Satellite Calendar is an original, At the end of 30 day months — April, June, September and November — the date advances automatically to the 1st of the following month. The date wheel has 93 teeth and goes around in three months carrying the three-armed carousel.
Mounted on the date wheel are three Maltese crosses, each corresponding to a satellite of four months at the opposite end of the date wheel. At the end of the short months, a finger on a Maltese cross intervenes to make the date wheel advance two days to the next month.
UR-110 « Torpedo »
La UR-110 est une pièce dont la technicité se laisse admirer à travers une large glace saphir aux dimensions panoramiques. En plus de l’heure, le Control Board, présent sur la face de la montre, affiche une indication jour/nuit ; un « oil change », l’indicateur de service dû développer par URWERK et un compteur 60-secondes.
Cette performance est rendue possible grâce à une construction à trois niveaux de complexité :
- Une tour centrale s’élevant sur toute la hauteur de la UR-110 garantit la stabilité et l’équilibre de toute la complication ;
- Un carrousel central assure la rotation des modules mobiles des heures autour du cadran ;
- Trois modules des heures - chacun formé d’une heure satellite avec aiguille des minutes - sont montés chacun sur un engrenage planétaire. Ces trois modules mobiles effectuent une contre-rotation constante compensant le mouvement circulaire du carrousel central.
La couleur métal prévaut sur le cadran. Une teinte mise à l’honneur sur cette création toute en titane. Sans fioriture, la UR-110 se veut sobre et ses seuls ornements se résument à sa finition parfaite.
Au dos de la montre, touche ultime, le fond, lui aussi en titane renferme le système de remontage automatique régulé par deux turbines.

Enveloped in a secure titanium case, planetary gearing keeps the three hour satellites in parallel formation as they take turns to indicate the time as they pass the 60-minute track.
An "Oil Change" indicator alerts the user when it is time for a service; a “Day/Night” indicator helps keep track of changing time zones; and twin turbines on the back minimize wear in the automatic winding system.
This new complication is made possible thanks to a construction with three levels of complexity
- A central carousel providing the complication with stability and equilibrium
- Planetary gearing assuring the parallel rotation of the three hour satellites as they orbit the dial
- Three counter-rotating hour modules - each comprising an hour satellite, minute hand and counter balance - are each mounted on a planetary gear. These three modules are in constant counter-rotation to counter the direction of rotation of the central carousel.
The UR-110 is a timepiece in which its technology can be appreciated though the large panoramic sapphire crystal.
The colour of metals prevails on the dial, a colour given pride of place on the predominately titanium case.
Turning the watch over, the titanium back encloses the innovative automatic winding system regulated by dual turbines.
