The new Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique in the Montblanc Collection Villeret 1858 ticks with two cylindrical balance-springs positioned concentrically one inside the other, each with its own diameter, but both with identical torque. The springs develop in opposite movements while the torque remains the same, thus further optimizing the isochronism.
The advantage of a cylindrical balance-spring is that it develops absolutely concentrically and symmetrically.
The new Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique will be available as a unique piece in platinum and in strictly limited series of eight wristwatches with 18 carat white gold cases and eight timepieces with 18 carat red gold cases.

Star World-Time GMT Automatic

Star World-Time GMT Automatic

All functions can be operated via the readily grasped - and for improved security – screwed crown in 3 positions. When the crown is in its neutral (unscrewed) position, turning it clockwise manually winds the automatic movement and turning it counter-clockwise resets the outer ring which indicates the worlds 24 time zones.
When the crown has been withdrawn to its first extracted position, turning it clockwise resets the date and turning it counter-clockwise triggers the GMT hand (with the red tip) to advance in hourly increments. Finally, when the crown has been further withdrawn to its second extracted position, turning it clockwise adjusts the 12-hour and the minute-hand in the usual manner.
The 12-hour hand is permanently coupled to the movement and shows the time in the wearer’s present location. The smaller GMT hand culminating in a red tip is accompanied by a contrastingly coloured 24 hour-scale indicating whether people are momentarily at work or asleep in the distant time zone.
The outer ring simultaneously indicates the corresponding time on all the global time zones when correctly adjusted with the current time and location of the GMT handé.
The new Montblanc Star World-Time GMT Automatic with stainless steel case and guilloche dial is available in two versions: Black dial, black alligator-leather strap; Silver-coloured model with bracelet made of articulated steel elements.

TimeWalker TwinFly Chronograph

TimeWalker TwinFly Chronograph calibre MB LL 100

Demand for mechanical chronographs continues strong, and this is another good reason which prompted Montblanc to create the chronograph Calibre MB LL100, a self-winding movement. These include control for the stopwatch mechanism via a traditional column-wheel.
A modern aspect in the calibre’s architecture is its vertical disk coupling, which generates very little friction and thus prevents unnecessary wear when the chronograph function is allowed to run for lengthy intervals. Calibre MB LL100 supports a very distinctive indication of the chronograph with both the large chronograph seconds and minute-hand from the center. All this in combination with a flyback function, a date window at the “9 o’clock” position and a 24-hour subdial at the “12.”
This last-mentioned subdial shows the time in a second zone and also indicates whether it’s presently day or night there.
The indication of chronograph seconds and minutes both from the center has another advantage. Unlike the many other chronographs that display the minutes on a subdial, the construction of the new Montblanc TimeWalker TwinFly Chronograph allows to save this space for an additional function. In its place, the watch’s designers installed a subdial to show the time in a second time zone.
Another special feature of this new high performance chronograph calibre is its double barrel, which accumulates sufficient power to keep the watch running for approximately seventy-two hours.
