Twenty-8-Eight Régulateur A.S.W. Horizons

Par sa conception et son inspiration, le Twenty-8-Eight Régulateur DeWitt entend également rendre hommage aux tendances Art Déco qui ont bercé l’Amérique après la Grande Dépression.

Le décor pour cette nouvelle création DeWitt est donc la majestueuse New York des années 30, pleines d’inspiration et de prospérité.
Le nouveau Twenty-8-Eight Regulateur A.S.W. Horizons renferme le déjà célèbre calibre DW 8014, qui a fait sensation lors de sa première présentation à Baselworld 2010. (voir ci-dessous)

DeWitt’s Twenty-8-Eight Regulator A.S.W., by its design and inspiration, also intends to pay tribute to Art Déco design, and in particular to the post Great Depression trends explored in America.

The scene for this new DeWitt creation is therefore the majestic New York, in its inspired and thriving 1930’s.
The new Twenty-8-Eight Regulator A.S.W. is home to the already famous calibre DW 8014, that made sensation when first revealed at Baselworld 2010. (see below)

DW 8014 REGULATEUR A REMONTAGE AUTOMATIQUE SEQUENTIEL

Le nouveau Calibre DW 8014 est non seulement le premier mouvement régulateur compliqué intégrant un Tourbillon entièrement développé et produit par la Manufacture DeWitt, mais il introduit de surcroît un mécanisme breveté extrêmement ingénieux de Remontage Automatique Séquentiel (A.S.W.), entrainé par une masse périphérique oscillante.
Le mécanisme A.S.W. permet la distribution d’une énergie constante dans le rouage de finition par un remontage séquencé du barillet. Cette prouesse technique rend possible l’utilisation d’un barillet de type manuel sur une plage de fonctionnement idéale, et évite ainsi tous les défauts de marche constatés par l’intégration des brides glissantes sur les calibres automatiques conventionnels.
Un dispositif d’affichage de la seconde morte au centre amène une base plus lisible du temps. En prise directe avec la cage du Tourbillon, l’aiguille marque par un arrêt chaque seconde comptée par celui-ci, on peut alors mieux se rendre compte de la précision amenée par les oscillations du balancier.
La réserve de marche est indiquée au moyen d’une aiguille à 9H qui parcours un secteur de 180° pour une durée complète de marche de 72 heures. Le cœur du balancier du calibre 8014 est animé par un Spiral Straumann® avec courbe Phillips. Développé à partir de sept éléments, cet alliage est incassable, autocompensateur, inoxydable et antimagnétique.

Not only is the new calibre DW 8014 the first complicated regulator movement integrating a Tourbillon entirely developed and produced by the DeWitt Manufacture, but it also introduces a patented and extremely ingenious Automatic Sequential Winding (A.S.W.) device, driven by a peripheral oscillating rotor.
The A.S.W mechanism enables the distribution of a constant energy into the going train through a sequenced winding of the barrel. Such a technical prowess enables to obtain an ideal functioning range with the usage of a single, manual-type barrel. Moreover, it avoids all the running defects observed when slip-springs are used on conventional automatic calibres.
Readability of time is also improved through a display mechanism for the dead-beat seconds positioned in the centre. In direct contact with the Tourbillon cage, the ticking hand marks a pause for each second counted, which beautifully outlines the precision level achieved by the oscillating balance.
The power reserve is of 72 hours and is indicated at 9 o’clock by a hand that covers a 180 degree segment. The heart of the balance beats to the rhythm of a Straumann Hairspring® with Phillips curve. It is made out of an unbreakable,
self-compensating, non-oxidizing and anti-magnetic alloy.
