Bentley Masterpiece

Breitling atteint les sommets de l’art en créant chaque année une pièce de haute horlogerie baptisée Bentley Masterpiece. Un chef-d’oeuvre mécanique où s’allient tradition, performances et bel artisanat.

Le millésime 2010 se présente comme une montre de poche réunissant deux des complications les plus sophistiquées du répertoire horloger: un quantième perpétuel (date, jour, mois, années bissextiles et phases de lune) tenant compte du retour quadriennal du 29 février et une répétition minutes sonnant à la demande les heures, les quarts et les minutes.
Le mouvement, basé sur une ébauche de la fin du XIXe siècle dont Breitling a retrouvé de très rares exemplaires dans ses ateliers, comporte près de 700 pièces.
Ses finitions raffinées – polissage et anglage à la main, Côtes de Genève – sont visibles à travers un fond transparent. En hommage à Walter Owen Bentley, le couvercle en or jaune 18 carats est orné d’une gravure le représentant au volant d’un de ses modèles de course.
Ce portrait est accompagné par les célèbres initiales «W.O.» par lesquelles les ingénieurs et artisans de la firme britannique – tout comme les passionnés de belles automobiles – continuent à désigner l’auguste fondateur de Bentley.

Each year, Breitling reaches a new peak in its art by creating a paragon of fine watchmaking named Bentley Masterpiece: a mechanical magnum opus combining tradition, performances and exquisite craftsmanship.
The 2010 vintage is a pocket-watch combining two of the most sophisticated complications in the horological repertoire: a perpetual calendar (displaying the date, day, month, leap years and moon phases) that takes account of the quadrennial occurrence of February 29th; and a minute repeater striking the hours, quarters and minutes on demand.
The movement, based on a late 19th century blank of which Breitling found just a few examples in its workshops, comprises almost 700 parts.

Its refined finishing – hand polishing, chamfering, and Côtes de Genève – is visible through a transparent caseback. In tribute to Walter Owen Bentley, the cover of the 18-carat yellow gold case is adorned with an engraving depicting him at the wheel of one of his racing models. This portrait is accompanied by the famous “W.O.” initials by which the engineers and craftsmen of the British firm – like all devotees of fine automobiles – still refer to the much revered founder of Bentley.

Breitling Colt GMT+

En plus de l’heure locale, cette montre automatique affiche un second fuseau horaire grâce à une deuxième aiguille des heures à pointe triangulaire rouge, associée à une graduation 24 heures sur le réhaut. A l’aise sur les cinq continents, la Colt GMT+ plonge aussi avec assurance dans toutes les mers du globe grâce à une étanchéité garantie jusqu’à 500 m de profondeur.

Elle est équipée d’un mouvement mécanique certifié chronomètre.

In addition to local time, this selfwinding watch displays another timezone by means of a second hour hand with a red triangular tip, combined with a 24-hour graduation on the inner bezel ring. This ultra-readable and extremely practical system serves to tell day from night at first glance, and thus avoid disturbing someone across the world during their sleep.
The bezel is adorned with raised numerals and hour markers, highlighted by the contrast between polished and satin-brushed surfaces. The dynamic dial features large stamped Arabic numerals and a concentric-line motif. The exclusive new rubber strap fits seamlessly into the case while accentuating its sleek lines; it is fitted with a pushbutton-operated seamless clasp and an extension piece that is adjustable in a few seconds.
The Colt GMT+ is thus equally at ease on all five continents and also dives confidently into oceans the world over thanks to an admirable degree of water resistance guaranteed to depths of 500 meters (1,660 ft). These aquatic virtues are emphasized by the graduated scale marking off the first 15 minutes on the unidirectional rotating bezel. This model is equipped with a mechanical movement that is chronometer-certified.

Bentley Supersports

Taillée dans l’acier, la série spéciale Bentley Supersports, éditée à 1000 exemplaires, s’orne d’une lunette au relief moleté typique des boutons de commande Bentley. Sous ce châssis sportif et puissant bat un moteur exclusif à Breitling for Bentley, certifié chronomètre COSC, avec un compteur 60 minutes au centre. Ce système inédit est complété par un compteur 12 heures à 9h et une échelle centrale pour les centièmes d’heure ou de minute.
Le cadran au look tableau de bord présente – en plus du traditionnel tachymètre fixe – un tachymètre variable avec règle à calcul circulaire. Une exclusivité Breitling permettant de mesurer une vitesse moyenne quel que soit le temps écoulé, la distance parcourue ou la vitesse atteinte, contrairement aux tachymètres usuels limités aux observations de 60 secondes maximum.

The sculpted steel Bentley Supersports special limited edition of 1,000 features a knurled bezel reminiscent of Bentley’s control buttons. Under this powerful sporty chassis throbs an exclusive Breitling for Bentley motor, a COSC-certified chronometer movement with a centre 60-minute counter.
This unique system also has a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock and a central scale for the hundredths of an hour or minutes. Along with the traditional fixed tachometer, the “dashboard” dial also has a variable tachometer with a circular slide rule. Unlike standard tachometers, which can only record measurements over 60 seconds, this exclusive Breitling invention can measure average speeds over any length of time, as well as the distance covered and the maximum speed attained.

Superocean

Breitling revisite le design de son mythique instrument de plongée lancé en 1957. Si la nouvelle Superocean ne fait aucun compromis sur les qualités techniques qui ont forgé sa légende, elle frappe par son look entièrement redessiné. La lunette surmoulée de caoutchouc s’anime de chiffres inclinés et de cannelures renforçant la note technique et la vocation à l’exploit.
Le cadran haut en relief reprend cette géométrie vigoureuse avec des chiffres et index appliques se détachant sur le fond noir Abyss, cerclé par un réhaut en biseau bleu, jaune, rouge, argent ou noir.
Plongeuse de choc, elle est étanche à 1500 mètres et présente tous les attributs d’un instrument professionnel, à l’instar de sa soupape de sécurité évacuant automatiquement l’hélium accumulé à partir d’une surpression interne de 3 bars environ.

Breitling has revived the design of the legendary diver’s instrument it launched in 1957. While the technical qualities that have forged the Superocean’s reputation have been respected, the timepiece has been given a thoroughly new look.
The rubber-moulded bezel features sloping numerals and flutes that underscore its technical nature and adventurous vocation. The strikingly distinctive dial is a continuation of the same vigorous design with applique numerals and hourmarkers standing out against the black Abyss ground, which is encircled by a blue, yellow, red, silvered or black bevelled flange.
A born diver, it is water-resistant to 1,500 metres and has all the attributes of a professional instrument, like the safety valve that automatically releases the accumulated helium when the internal over-pressure reaches around 3 bar.
