A voluptuously curved yet elegantly slender case in 950 platinum; a broad, beautifully restrained 950 platinum dial with a finely grained sandblasted finish reflecting the light with a gentle glow such as only platinum can offer; as well as 950 platinum baton-shaped hands gliding over delicately applied understated hour-markers: the exquisite metallic harmony of this creation contributes to its overall aesthetic equilibrium. Inside this elegant exterior beats Calibre 4400, the new mechanical hand-wound mechanism representing the latest generation of proprietary movements and entirely designed, developed and crafted by Vacheron Constantin according to the highest standards of Geneva’s Grand watchmaking tradition.
Its generous 28.50 mm diameter, magnified by the transparency of the sapphire crystal back, is perfectly suited to the equally liberally sized 43 mm case. Métiers d’Art «Les Masques»

Une collection est une affaire de temps. Voilà pourquoi la collection Métiers d’Art «Les Masques» est une histoire au long cours. Chaque année pendant trois ans – de 2007 à 2009 – un coffret de quatre nouveaux masques en série limitée à 25 exemplaires a vu le jour.
Une collection complète de 12 garde-temps à l’effigie de 12 masques – soit un total de 300 garde-temps d’exception – dévoilée dans son ensemble au Metropolitan Museum of Art de New York à l’occasion d’une exposition soutenue par Vacheron Constantin et intitulée «A legacy of collecting: African and Oceanic Art from the Barbier-Mueller Museum, Geneva» en hommage à Jean Paul Barbier-Mueller.
Chaque garde-temps est doté du mouvement manufacture Calibre 2460G4 à remontage automatique, estampillé du prestigieux Poinçon de Genève. Ce mouvement très particulier permet de lire le temps sans aiguilles: par un jeu de roues et d’engrenages, 4 disques s’inscrivent dans des guichets – heures, minutes, jours et date – libérant ainsi le centre du cadran afin que les artisans puissent laisser libre cours à leur création.

A collection cannot be hurried. That is why the Métiers d’Art “Les Masques” collection is a story that has unfurled over time. Every year for three years – 2007 to 2009 – a boxed set of four different masks has been presented in a limited series of 25.
A complete set of the twelve timepieces reproducing the twelve masks – from the limited edition of 300 exceptional timepieces – is being unveiled at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York at an exhibition sponsored by Vacheron Constantin and called “A Legacy of Collecting: African and Oceanic Art from the Barbier-Mueller Museum, Geneva” in tribute to Jean Paul Barbier-Mueller.
Each timepiece is equipped with the automatic Calibre 2460G4 movement, made by the manufacture and bearing the prestigious Poinçon de Genève.
Thanks to this very special movement, the time can be read without any hands: by means of a set of wheels and gears, four discs indicate the hours, minutes, day and date in windows, leaving the centre of the dial empty for the masks to be placed there and for the craftsmen to give free rein to their creativity.

Patrimony Traditionnelle Chronographe Quantième Perpétuel

Battant au rythme de 18’000 alternances par heure, ce calibre 1141 QP, mouvement mécanique à remontage manuel, dispose d’une réserve de marche d’environ 48 heures. Outre les heures, minutes et petite seconde à 9h, il propose les fonctions chronographe avec trotteuse centrale et compteur 30 minutes à 3h ; quant au quantième perpétuel, il rythme les indications jour de la semaine, mois et années bissextiles dans des guichets, ainsi que la phase de lune astronomique et la date à aiguille à 6h.
Tantôt souriante, tantôt mélancolique, la lune est gravée à la main à partir d’une plaque d’or. A l’instar de tous les mouvements Vacheron Constantin, le calibre 1141 QP se caractérise par le minutieux travail à la main d’anglage des ponts décorés de Côtes de Genève et par le perlage également à la main de la platine.
Etanche à une pression de 3 Bar (équivalente à 30 mètres), le boîtier en or rose 18 carats est doté d’un fond saphir qui permet d’admirer la remarquable complexité et l’architecture d’exception du calibre 1141 QP.

The mechanical manual-winding 1141 QP movement makes 18,000 vibrations per hour and has a 48-hour power reserve. Besides the hours, minutes and small seconds at 9 o’clock, it features chronograph functions with a centre direct-drive seconds hand and a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock.
The perpetual calendar indicates the days of the week, months and leap years in windows, as well as the astronomical phases of the moon and a date hand at 6 o’clock.
The moon, sometimes happy, sometimes melancholy, is hand-engraved from a gold plate. Like all Vacheron Constantin movements, the 1141 QP calibre is distinguished by the meticulous chamfering work of the Côtes de Genève bridges and the circular-graining of the plate, both done by hand. Water-resistant to a pressure of 3 Bar, the equivalent of 30 metres, the 18K pink gold case features a sapphire crystal back through which one can admire the remarkable complexity and exceptional architecture of the 1141 QP movement.

Tout dans cette montre contemporaine est un hommage au meilleur de la tradition horlogère. A commencer par ce légendaire calibre 1141 chronographe à roue à colonnes, évolution d’un mouvement à ce point fameux qu’il a traversé les âges.
Ce nouveau chronographe signé Vacheron Constantin se caractérise également par son cadran argenté opalin à deux compteurs typique des années 40, âge d’or du chronographe. Compteur chronographe 30 minutes à 3h et petite seconde à 9h offrent un parfait équilibre à l’ensemble.
Les designers de la manufacture ont tiré au mieux parti de la belle dimension du boîtier de 42 mm pour garantir une lisibilité optimale de toutes les indications jusqu’à l’échelle tachymétrique en périphérie du cadran.
A l’instar des autres modèles de la ligne, le boîtier en or rose 18 carats – étanchéité testée à une pression de 3 Bar (équivalente à 30 mètres) - est doté d’un fond saphir qui permet d’admirer la géométrie unique et caractéristique du calibre 1141 et ses finitions exemplaires. Le calibre 1141 chronographe manuel dispose d’une réserve de marche d’environ 48 heures.

For a start, there is the legendary 1141 calibre column-wheel chronograph, a movement that has become so famous that it has joined the ranks of Vacheron Constantin classics.
Another distinguishing feature of this new Vacheron Constantin chronograph is its silvered opaline dial with two counters characteristic of the 1940’s, the chronograph’s golden age. The 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock and the small seconds at 9 o’clock give the dial perfect balance.
The Manufacture’s designers have taken full advantage of the case’s impressive 42-mm diameter to guarantee optimum legibility of all the indications, including the tachometer scale on the dial rim.
The 18K pink gold case has been tested for water-resistance to a pressure of 3 Bar, the equivalent of 30 metres. Like the other models in this line, it has a sapphire crystal back through which one can admire the unique and characteristic geometry of the manual-winding 1141 chronograph movement and its exemplary finishing. The 1141 also has a 48-hour power reserve.

Malte Phase de lune et Réserve de marche

Le boîtier de forme tonneau abrite un magnifique et harmonieux cadran - équilibre parfait entre l’horlogerie technique et traditionnelle - en or terminaison argentée. On y trouve pas moins de cinq finitions différentes, d’une grande difficulté d’exécution.
L’indication de la phase de lune, savant mélange de technologie et de savoir-faire, est composée d’un disque avec un fond galvanisé et une face de lune en or 18 carats blanc ou rose selon le modèle. D’une grande largeur, le cadran permet une lecture adéquate et facile. Il est ponctué de 9 index, 8 chiffres arabes, 2 chiffres romains et d’une croix de Malte ; le tout en appliques or 18 carats, blanc ou rose selon la version choisie.
Le mouvement 1410 à remontage manuel qui équipe la Malte Phase de lune et Réserve de marche est entièrement développé et manufacturé chez Vacheron Constantin. Il est frappé du prestigieux Poinçon de Genève.
En plus d’indiquer l’heure et la minute, le calibre 1410 affiche une phase de lune de grande précision qui ne nécessite aucun réglage pendant plus de 100 ans, et fournit l’indication de sa réserve de marche de plus de 40 heures. À remontage manuel, oscillant à 28 800 alternances/heure, il comporte 22 rubis.

The tonneau-shaped case frames a magnificently harmonious dial in silvered gold, striking a perfect balance between technical and traditional watchmaking. It is adorned with five different finishes, all of them involving highly skilled craftsmanship.
The moon-phase display embodies a clever blend of technology and expertise, composed of a disc with a galvanised base and a moon face in 18-carat white gold or pink gold depending on the model. The extremely broad dial ensuring user-friendly readability is punctuated by nine hour-markers, two Roman numerals and a Maltese cross, all in 18-carat white or pink gold, depending on the version.
The manual-winding 1410 calibre powering the Malte Moon Phase and Power-Reserve is entirely developed and manufactured by Vacheron Constantin. It bears the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva
In addition to hour and minute hands, Calibre 1410 drives a precision moon-phase display which will not require any setting for more than 100 years and an indication of the over 40-hour power reserve. This 22-jewel manual-winding movement oscillates at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
