Athys Quantième Perpétuel

Le nouveau garde-temps exclusif Daniel Roth abrite un calibre mécanique à remontage automatique (DR 114) avec quantième perpétuel et phases de lune, battant au rythme de 28'800 alternances par heure et offrant une réserve de marche de 44 heures.

Le cadran, classique et lisible, doté de grands chiffres romains, s'intègre parfaitement à l'esprit de la ligne Athys. Ainsi, légèrement décentrées, les heures, minutes et phases de lune sont "encerclées" par la minuterie, et se lisent au-dessus d'une ouverture en saphir transparent permettant d'admirer une partie du mouvement.
A 9h et à 3h se trouvent respectivement les guichets des jours de la semaine et des mois, sur deux disques saphir. A 6h, la date est indiquée au moyen d'une aiguille bâton en acier bleui et, au centre, sur chacune des quatre branches d'une étoile, les années du cycle bissextile, marquées par une petite aiguille flèche.
Comme tous les mouvements Daniel Roth, le DR 114 bénéficie de finitions haute horlogerie: décoration complète, anglage main, Côtes de Genève et, pour les mouvements automatiques, masse oscillante en or 18 ct guilloché.

The exclusive new Daniel Roth timepiece houses a mechanical self-winding calibre (DR 114) with perpetual calendar and moon phases, beating to the cadence of 28,800 vibrations per hour and endowed with a 44-hour power reserve.

The classically elegant and legible dial bearing large Roman numerals is entirely in tune with the spirit of the Athys line. The slightly off-centred hours, minutes and moon-phase display are “surrounded” by the chapter ring and are read off above a transparent sapphire crystal opening enabling one to admire part of the movement.
The day of the week and month apertures are located on two sapphire discs at 9 and 3 o’clock respectively. The calendar is displayed by a blued steel baton-shaped hand at 6 o’clock, and in the centre the leap years are shown by a tiny arrow-tipped hand moving over a four-pointed star bearing the corresponding indications.
Like all Daniel Roth movements, the DR114 is adorned with fine watchmaking finishes: complete decoration, hand bevelling, Côtes de Genève, as well as an 18-carat guilloché oscillating weight for self-winding movements.

Athys Moon 2134

Lancé à l'occasion de l'année astronomique (2009), il dispose d'un mécanisme d'affichage d'une grande lune dit précis, avec correction manuelle tous les 125 ans, d'où son nom: l'Athys Moon 2134. Le cadran laqué blanc indique les heures, les minutes, la petite seconde au moyen de l'emblématique aiguille à trois bras, la date et la grande lune dans un guichet en relief.

Launched on the occasion of the International Year of Astronomy (2009), it features an extremely accurate large moon-phase display requiring manual correction only once very 125 years – hence its name evoking the next scheduled adjustment: Athys Moon 2134.
The white-lacquered dial carries hour and minute hands, the brand’s characteristic three-arm seconds hand, a date display and a raised large moon display appearing through a window.

D'une dimension généreuse de 41x44 mm, étanche à 10 atm, elle est fabriquée en acier traité noir spécial à base de carbure de titane BlackTich ou en Marine Steel 4435 Staybrite, acier spécial présentant une résistance accrue à la corrosion. D'une conception plus massive, son orientation plus sportive n'est cependant pas exempte d'un attrait qui séduit d'emblée: la douceur. Par exemple, les angles ont été cassés et polis afin de donner davantage de lumière à la montre. En outre, il suffit d'admirer la montre de profil à 6h pour découvrir des courbes surprenantes: la lunette concave, ornée de six vis et dotée d'une glace convexe, se termine de chaque côté, à 3h et à 9h, par une forme elle aussi concave, un peu comme si la boîte portait encore l'empreinte des pouces du maître horloger qui l'a façonnée.

A 7h30 se trouve le bouton-poussoir de la fonction Chrono sprint, dont le design à ondulation permet une prise plus efficace et s'inscrit dans la logique du cadran et du bracelet. Les finitions ne sont pas en reste puisque les deux glaces sont traitées antireflet face et fond.
La couronne est frappée du logo à trois branches, rappel de l'aiguille des secondes, emblématique de la marque.
Le mouvement exclusif à remontage automatique DR 1306 bat au rythme de 28'800 alternances par heure. Il affiche heures et minutes sur un axe légèrement excentré, et grande date à 12h. Cette dernière, dont le mécanisme est breveté, bénéficie d'une construction spécifique plus grande que la plupart de ses concurrentes sur le marché.
Grâce à ce décentrage des fonctions heures-minutes, le compteur de la fonction Chrono sprint, positionné à 6h, a la part belle.
Rare dans la haute horlogerie, cette "complication simple" mais utile consiste en un chronographe simplifié permettant de mesurer de longs laps de temps. En effet, elle indique les heures et les minutes au moyen de deux aiguilles montées sur un seul axe. Une pression sur le bouton-poussoir à 7h30 enclenche le positionnement des aiguilles sur 12h ainsi que le départ du chronographe.

Generously sized at 41 x 44 mm and water resistant to 10 atm, it is made from steel with a black coating based on BlackTich titanium carbide, or from Marine Steel 4435 Staybrite – a special grade of steel boasting enhanced corrosion resistance.
While distinctly larger and sportier, it nonetheless radiates an immediately appealing trait of character: gentleness. For example, the angles have been cut and polished to create a more luminous effect. Moreover, one need only admire the watch from the 6 o’clock side to discover a set of surprising curves: the concave bezel, adorned with six screws and fitted with a convex glass, adopts an equally concave shape at 3 and 9 o’clock – almost as if the case bore the thumbprint of the master-watchmaker who fashioned it.

The Chrono sprint function push-button located between 7 and 8 o’clock features a ridged design ensuring a firmer grip and entirely in harmony with the dial and strap. The finishing touches are on a par with this overall aura of quality, since the two watch glasses are glareproofed on both sides. The crown is stamped with the three-arm logo evoking the brand’s iconic seconds hand.
The exclusive self-winding DR 1306 movement beats to the cadence of 28,800 vibrations per hour. It displays the hours and minutes on a slightly off-centred axis, and the large date through a window at 12 o’clock. Based on a patented mechanism, the latter boasts a dedicated design significantly larger than its competitors. The offset position of the hour and minute functions gives pride of place to the Chrono sprint function at 6 o’clock.
A rarity in the field of fine watchmaking, this “simple” but useful complication consists in a simplified chronograph mechanism serving to measure long periods of time. It does this by indicating hours and minutes by means of two hands mounted on a single axis.
A single press on the pushbutton at 7.30 positions the hand at 12 o’clock and starts the chronograph.
