Une âme ancienne donc pour un modèle qui répond néanmoins à toutes les exigences de fiabilité, de robustesse et de précision vis-à-vis d'une montre moderne, y compris l'étanchéité, qui est garantie jusqu'à une profondeur de 100 mètres. Le boîtier carré avec ses angles arrondis, d'un diamètre de 45 mm.

Avec sa mécanique à remontage manuel, le “moteur” animant la Ferrari Chronographe or rose 45 mm est un mouvement Panerai calibre OP XXVIII mesurant 12¾ lignes de diamètre.
Il utilise un mouvement d'époque de Minerva, un horloger suisse établi de longue date qui fait depuis peu partie du Groupe Richemont, qui fournissait à Panerai des compteurs de minutes et de secondes précis qui étaient utilisés dans certains de ses appareils de mesure du temps dans les années 30 et 40 du siècle dernier.
Ici aussi, le travail ne consistait pas simplement à assembler les pièces. En effet, les 50 mouvements étaient tous démontés, soumis à un finissage spécial et au polissage; ils étaient parfois aussi substantiellement modifiés par les ingénieurs et concepteurs de la manufacture Officine Panerai, avec l'inclusion, par exemple, du dispositif col-de-cygne permettant de régler la raquette, un dispositif antichoc Incabloc et un balancier Glucydur, tous deux munis de vis de réglage comme c'était le cas à l'époque. Une nouvelle vie est insufflée à l'ancien mouvement avec les ponts dorés et les ancres polis avec une finition miroir; son coeur bat à 18'000 alternances par heure, aussi fiable qu'un moteur de voiture qui vient de passer tous ses tests avec succès.

The model Ferrari Chronograph Pink Gold 45 mm, produced in a series of only 50 units, with a period “engine” or movement that obliquely recalls the first 12- cylinder engine so emphatically specified by Enzo Ferrari.
A historic soul, then, for a model that nonetheless has all the characteristics of reliability, robustness and precision of a modern watch, including water-resistance guaranteed to a depth of 100 metres.
The square case with rounded corners is 45 mm across and has particularly aerodynamic lines, recalling the sinuous curves of many period Ferraris; its finish is partly brushed and partly polished.
With manual winding, the “engine” which powers the Ferrari Chronograph Pink Gold 45 mm is the Panerai calibre OP XXVIII, measuring 12¾ lignes in diameter.
It uses a period movement from Minerva, a historic Swiss maker that has recently become part of the Richemont Group, which in the 1930s and 1940s supplied Panerai with precise seconds and minute timers which were used in some of its timing devices. Here too the work was not simply a matter of assembly.
The 50 movements were all dismantled, refinished, polished and sunstantially modified by the engineers of the Officine Panerai manufacture, with the inclusion, for example, of the sophisticated swan’s neck device for setting the regulator index, the Incabloc anti-shock system and a Glucydur balance, but with regulating screws, as were used originally. With the bridges gilded and levers polished to a mirror finish, the old movement has been given new life and beats at 18,000 alternations per hour, as reliably as an engine that has just emerged from the test bed.

MOVEMENT: Hand-wound mechanical, Panerai calibre P.2004/6, completely realised by Panerai, 13 3/4 lignes, 8.2 mm thick, 29 jewels, power reserve of 8 days, 3 spring barrels, 28,800 alternations/hour.
FUNCTIONS: Hours, minutes and small seconds, second time zone (12 and 24 hours), single-button chronograph with two counters, tachymeter scale, power reserve indication, seconds reset.

CASE: Diameter 45 mm, in steel with polished finish and brushed edges, screw- down chronograph push-pieces, winding crown with the Ferrari logo and rim decorated with square grille pattern.
BEZEL: Steel with brushed finish. BACK: In steel, screw, with sapphire crystal window decorated with metal grille pattern; round the edge is engraved the inscription “Engineered by Officine Panerai”.

MOVEMENT: Automatic mechanical, Panerai calibre OP XXI, 13 1/4 lignes, 42 jewels. monometallic Glucydur® balance, 28,800 alternations/hour. Incabloc® anti-shock device. Power reserve 42 hours, bridges with Côtes de Genève decoration. Rotor engraved with the Prancing Horse.
FUNCTIONS: Hours, minutes, chronograph split-seconds with two counters, one with 1/8th-second sub-divisions, tachymeter scale.
