Le remontage manuel du « tri-tourbillon » permet d'armer un double barillet qui confère au rouage un rendement optimal et une réserve de marche confortable. Le dernier mobile du rouage de finissage entraîne le cœur du système; un plateau circulaire portant pas moins de trois tourbillons volants. Ceux-ci sont disposés de manière équidistante du centre du plateau, leurs axes respectifs formant un triangle équilatéral. Chacun des trois tourbillons effectue une rotation complète autour de son axe en une minute alors que l'ensemble du plateau n'a besoin que de 2min 15' pour accomplir une révolution.

Premier gage de précision, chacun des tourbillons voit ainsi sa vitesse de rotation accélérée par cette double révolution. Les fréquences respectives des trois organes régulateurs s'accordent par la résonance obtenue par le rehaut de la circonférence du plateau qui agit comme caisse de résonance.
Principale caractéristique du phénomène physique qu'est la résonance, chaque oscillateur s'accorde avec les deux autres par auto-compensation. Les trois oscillateurs vibrent donc à une fréquence moyenne, stable et quasiment imperturbable. Autre phénomène en résultant, chacun des oscillateurs voit, lorsqu'il y a résonance, son amplitude augmenter significativement.

The hand-winding mechanism of the Tri-Tourbillon winds a twin barrel that ensures optimal efficiency and a comfortable power-reserve. The last wheel and pinion of the gear-train drives the heart of the system; a circular roller carrying no less than three flying tourbillons.
The latter are arranged in an equidistant manner from the centre of the roller, with their respective axes forming an equilateral triangle. Each of the three tourbillons performs a complete rotation around its axis in one minute, while the entire roller needs only 2 minutes and 15 seconds to complete one revolution.
Constituting a first factor in enhancing precision, the speed of rotation of each of the tourbillons is thus accelerated by this double revolution. The respective frequencies of the three regulating organs keep step with each other thanks to the resonance achieved thanks to the flange around the circumference of the roller that acts as a resonating chamber.

Back in the 80’s while listening our favorite vinyl discs, we often forgot that the best songs where not on the A-Side but the B-Side.

Art of Tourbillon

La « cuvée » 2007 voit l’apparition d’un nouveau mouvement offrant 90h de réserve de marche. Ses dimensions augmentées accroissent les performances chronométriques du tourbillon dont chacune des révolutions s’effectue en une minute.
L’absence de cadran permet d’admirer le nouveau venu de cette prestigieuse collection. Pour cette première interprétation, le mouvement, doré en or rose, est orné d’une gravure faite à la main et reproduisant des motifs traditionnels des poteries grecques datées de 500ans avant J.C.
Les dimensions du boîtier de forme tonneau, qui passent à 42mm pour 12mm de hauteur.

The 2007 “vintage” sees the appearance of a new movement offering a 90-hour power reserve.
The increased dimensions add to the tourbillon’s chronometric performances – each of its revo-lutions takes just one minute. The lack of a dial means that we can admire the newcomer to this celebrated collection.
The movement for this first interpretation is gilded in pink gold and decorated with a piece of hand engraving reproducing the traditional motifs found on Greek pottery which has been dated back to 500 years BC.

City Timer

Antoine Preziuso présente une nouvelle déclinaison de son célèbre modèle HOURS OF THE WORLD en revisitant le cadran ainsi que la boîte. Équipé d'un mouvement automatique, il indique l’heure locale sur le cadran principal. Dans un guichet à 12 heures apparaît le nom de six villes (à sélectionner selon la région où l'on se rend), sur un disque. L'heure correspondant à la ville choisie figure sur le cadran secondaire à 6 heures.

Lorsque l’on demande « à quand la prochaine pleine lune ? » la plupart d'entre nous se lance dans des calculs mathématiques compliqués et fastidieux, en comptant, en ajoutant, en soustrayant, faisant des modulos de 30, 28, 29 ou 31 jours, à partir du jour courant. Oui ce n’est pas si simple de répondre à cette question.

When asked “when is the next full moon?” most of us goes in complicated and fastidious mathematics counting, adding, subtracting, making modules of 30, 28, 29 or 31 days, from the current day. Yes that’s how complicated is to find out when the next full moon is coming out. With this new patent, Preziuso gives us the right information just with a straight forward read of the dial!

Transworld

Le cadran 24 heures possède de gros chiffres, placés à des intervalles de 3 heures et séparés par des “lignes des heures”, qui évoquent de manière symbolique les rayons du soleil et représentent, plus concrètement, les longitudes sur une carte du monde.
Visuellement, le cadran est réparti en une partie supérieure claire, qui affiche les heures du jour, et une partie inférieure plus foncée pour les heures de la nuit. Le centre du cadran est décoré par une représentation stylisée du globe et des continents dont les contours se détachent sur la vaste étendue de vagues bleues de l’océan.
Ce motif, qui n’a pas une fonction simplement artistique, tourne en 24 heures et indique les fuseaux horaires pour ceux d’entre nous qui sont parfaitement à l’aise dans le village global.

On this magnificent version of the Transworld line created by Antoine Preziuso, the travel theme is highlighted by the stunningly original large pebble-like case.
The 24-hour dial features large numerals at 3-hourly intervals with “hour lines” in between, symbolically evoking the rays of the sun and in practical terms representing the longi-tudes on a world map. It is also visually distinguished by a light upper zone to display daytime hours and a dark lower section to show the night-time.
The dial centre is adorned with a stylised representation of the globe with its continents stretching across the vast expanse of a wavy-patterned blue ocean background.
More than just an artistic accomplishment, the latter actually turns in 24 hours as the real globe to indicate the time zones for individuals entirely at home in our global village.
