CLASSIQUE GRANDE COMPLICATION 5347 DOUBLE TOURBILLON TOURNANT
Deux tourbillons, indépendants l’un de l’autre, sont couplés au moyen d’un mécanisme à engrenages différentiels et fixés sur une platine centrale tournante , dont la rotation complète s’effectue en douze heures.
Les différentiels transmettent la marche moyenne des deux tourbillons à la platine centrale tournante et à l’affichage de l’heure et permettent le remontage simultané des barillets tout en garantissant un armage égal.
La marche de la montre est donc la moyenne de marche des deux tourbillons, ce qui signifie qu’elle est deux fois plus précise qu’un mouvement normal.
Les défauts d’isochronisme des oscillateurs dans les positions verticales sont annulés.
L’heure est indiquée par le pont joignant les deux tourbillons, qui fait office d’aiguille ; l’affichage des minutes se fait par une aiguille classique au centre.
Une finition exceptionnelle, parachève le garde-temps : guillochage à la main, chiffres romains, aiguilles BR E G U E T en acier bleui, ponts décorés, roues cerclées et moulurées et autres pièces du mécanisme anglées et polies...
La beauté du mouvement se découvre également à travers le dos saphir du boîtier et sa gravure exceptionnelle représentant le système solaire, laissant entrevoir les rouages des mouvements. Trois demandes de brevet ont été déposées pour protéger les caractéristiques exclusives de cette réalisation: son système de remontage, sa pluralité de systèmes réglants et son engrenage différentiel, dont la mise au point n'est ni plus ni moins qu'un exploit au service d'une exceptionnelle précision.
Le mécanisme de remontage et de mise à l'heure comporte deux parties de manière à permettre de centrer la c ouronne sur le boîtier.
Working independently one from the other, the two tourbillons are coupled by means of differential gears and mounted on a rotating center plate effecting a complete revolution in twelve hours.
The differentials transmit the mean rate of the two tourbillon regulators and the display of the time to the rotating center plate, allowing the simultaneous and tensionally equal rewinding of the twin barrels.
The movement’s rate is therefore the mean rate of the two tourbillons, making its running rate twice as precise as a normal movement’s.
The oscillators’ isochronism errors in the vertical positions are cancelled.
The current hour is shown via the bridge connecting the two tourbillons, which doubles as an hour hand, while the minutes are indicated by a standard minute hand at center.
The watch’s exceptionally meticulous finish includes engine -turning by hand, elegant Roman numerals, blued-steel Breguet hands, the movement’s decorated bridges and bars, circular - grained wheels and chamfered sinks, not to mention its many bevelled and polished parts.
The back of the movement holds further refinements; not least the view through the clear sapphire caseback of an engraved diagram of the solar system arrayed around the movement’s scintillating gears.
Three patent applications have been filed to protect this timepiece’s unique features: original winding system, more than one regulating system and differential g earing.
Its successful development stands as a salute to precision at its most exceptional.
Its winding and time -setting mechanism is a two-part construction to allow proper centering of the crown on the case flank.

CLASSIQUE 5197
Roue d’échappement, ancre et spiral en silicium
Le garde-temps CLASSIQUE 5197 cache en son boîtier le calibre 591A à double barillet, premier mouvement avec assortiment complet en silicium.
Le spiral bénéficie d’une courbe au centre, de pas et section variables , et d’une virole intégrée.
La difficulté majeure posée par sa réalisation réside dans la mise au point du coefficient thermique, à savoir la capacité de la montre à conserver une marche constante quelle que soit la température.
Ces éléments, d’ailleurs protégés par un brevet, marquent un pas décisif dans la quête de l’isochronisme pour les montres mécaniques, avec des résultats de performance qui habituellement ne sont atteints que par le spiral BREGUET. Enfin, le silicium étant un matériau amagnétique, la montre fonctionne sans risque d’altération par des champs ou impulsions magnétiques.

The CLASSIQUE 5197 timepiece case holds Breguet’s twin-barrel caliber 591A, the first movement to incorporate a complete “assortment”, i.e. escape wheel, lever and balance spring in silicon.
The latter features a center curve, variables pitch and section and an integrated collet.
The main challenge to its development was the determination of its temperature coefficient, i.e. the watch’s ability to maintain a steady rate whatever the temperature.
Now protected by a patent, these factors represent a decisive step forward in the quest for horological isochronism, producing timing performances usually reserved for BREGUET overcoil.
Silicon being nonmagnetic, movements run without risk of interference by magnetic fields or impulses.
